UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY CONSULTANCY Grandvalira Ski Resort
Canillo (Andorra)
With the aim of improving the user experience at Grandvalira ski resort, taking into account the needs of all people when using and enjoying its facilities, the resort managers commissioned an analysis and assessment of the universal accessibility of three access points in the Soldeu, El Tarter and El Canillo sectors , using the Clear Code Architecture® method.
In each sector, the urbanisation access, parking area, information points and ticket offices, access points to the gondola lifts, horizontal and vertical communication cores, as well as public toilets and changing rooms were analysed. The level of universal accessibility in each space was assessed for each Clear Code group, including both physical and communication barriers. Subsequently, a series of general and group-specific recommendations were made to increase the level of accessibility both partially and globally.
At the same time, the executive project for the L'Abarset restaurant was being carried out, which PMMT also analysed and evaluated with the aim of proposing measures to improve the initial design. With these proposals in hand, the drafting team outlined the strategy for integrating the changes.
