The new Vithas Barcelona Esplugues Hospital is a new building that is set in the territory as a reference both in terms of care and form, becoming an urban landmark at the south-western gateway to Esplugues.
Typologically, it consists of a 6-storey base where the hospital's central services are located: outpatient, diagnostic and surgical services, as well as the hospital's general services. In the part that outlines the tower with 8 floors is where the different hospitalisation and treatment units are located.
It is a building conceived through a standardised, parametric and flexible design, capable of adapting to changes in the use of this type of equipment. Through the design based on the concept of a horizontal window, a façade is created that is capable of responding to all the hospital's conditioning factors.
The Vithas Barcelona Esplugues Hospital is an efficient building in its conception, thanks to the functional circuits that separate the public, technical and specific flows of each service at all times.
