PIN8 HOUSE
Girona (Spain)
PIN8-HOUSE is a project that focuses on humanisation in interior design, a subject that PMMT has been researching for many years and which is essential for improving people's quality of life. Specifically, our inspiration for the design of this house were the landscapes of Empordà, which gave rise to a moodboard with ochre tones and materials typical of the area such as ceramics and wood. We also integrated elements such as Mallorcan shutters and traditional Catalan tables, which give the spaces a warm and welcoming feel.
The materials and composition of the finishes of the PIN8 HOUSE, validated by the Friendly Materials® Library, apart from being respectful with the industry and local aesthetics, follow biophilic criteria and guarantee a good level of interior healthiness. The finishes are characterised by low levels of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and good acoustic performance.
The structure, which is visible from inside the house, evokes the image of a large inverted boat or the ribcage of the whale in the story of Pinocchio, after whom the house is named. The wooden structure, together with the furniture and other constructive elements of the house, come from local manufacturers and workshops, so that the PIN8-HOUSE can be called pre-industrialised and 0 Km.
