Montero Hospital
Montero (Bolivia)
The Montero Hospital is a tertiary level hospital located on a flat plot on the outskirts of the city of Montero, Bolivia. Owing to the size of the site (400x100 metres), the hospital takes an extensive longitudinal form, consisting of a sequence of pavilions and courtyards linked by two corridors, one technical and the other public. These courtyards and the size of the pavilions allow the hospital to have practically all the rooms with the possibility of sunlight and ventilation. It has three floors, the ground floor and two more floors, where the services are grouped together, leaving the outpatient services on the ground floor, with different necessary accesses, the central services on the first floor and the top floor for the hospitalisation units. It is a compact hospital, which plays with the façade volumes to mark the different entrances to the building and which contrasts with all the vegetation that surrounds it.
