Sant Celoni Hospital Master Plan
Barcelona (Spain)
Sant Celoni Hospital is a small regional hospital located in the centre of the town of the same name since 1960. Throughout its history the centre has been increasing its volume and capacity without following a specific strategic plan, so it has reached a point where it has become necessary to restructure its services and renovate its spaces and facilities.
Faced with this scenario, the hospital management requested a master plan for the hospital, which consisted of a detailed analysis of the current state of the equipment, the issues with the building, an action plan according to the medium and long-term care and functional objectives, a study of phases and investments and the proposed look & feel that shows the final image of the hospital after these interventions.
The master plan is the starting point for future projects at Sant Celoni Hospital, which aims to offer users an optimal place to work or be treated, with functional, updated and suitably equipped spaces for the new healthcare realities.
Therefore, the master plan serves as a road map and establishes a single strategy that allows different lines and phases of action to be established so as to carry out the tasks in an orderly and coherent manner. The first project to be carried out is the refurbishment of the surgical block and extension of the system of vertical connections.
