GCCC 360 Centre of Oncological Excellence
Barcelona (Spain)
The GCCC 360 Centre of Oncological Excellence has been designed with the aim of making the patient's stay as comfortable as possible, offering personalised care with the latest advances in medical and radiotherapy oncology treatment, and a distinctive care model.
The project involved the partial refurbishment of the existing building, with the development of the programme as follows: the basement floor houses the treatment area of the new centre, with a linear accelerator and a brachytherapy area; the mezzanine floor is for the diagnostic area, where a PET-CT scanner has been installed; the ground floor is for outpatient use and is equipped with reception and general use areas; and the third floor houses the Oncology Day Hospital, as well as other outpatient uses.
For the Oncology Day Hospital, the Box First Class has been designed, an element separating spaces to accommodate a patient and a companion during oncological or post-operative treatment, creating a friendly and personal environment that guarantees privacy and helps by easing the difficulty of these moments.
